Wealth management is the process of meeting your life goals through the proper management of your finances. Life goals can include buying a home, saving for your child’s education, and planning for retirement. Wealth Management focuses on four primary concerns:
Cash Flow Analysis
• Helps us understand what’s coming in and what’s going out
• Provides your basis for making all other wealth management decisions
• Can be detailed or basic depending on your requirements
Insurance / Risk Management
• Helps protect your cash flow and your assets
• Without proper insurance an unexpected event can devastate even the best financial
plan
Investment Management
• Align your investment strategies with you short- and long-term goals
• Develop strategies that are transparent, make sense to you, and are a result of a collaborative process
• Strive for cost and tax efficiency to help you meet your goals more efficiently
Debt Management
• Make sure your debt is in line with your other financial goals
• Take control of your debt and have it work hard for you
• Develop your strategy for eventual debt elimination
Other areas of attention might include estate planning, wealth transfer strategies, tax planning, etc. These additional concerns will be addressed in collaboration with other trusted advisors like CPAs, trust companies, and attorneys.
Wealth management is critical because it provides direction and meaning to your financial decisions. It allows you to understand how each financial decision you make affects other areas of your finances. By viewing each financial decision as part of a whole you can consider its short- and long-term effects on your life goals. Additionally, having a well orchestrated plan can reduce the level of anxiety and uncertainty you feel about finances and financial decisions.
The key to making financial planning work for you is making sure your plan grows with your personal and business circumstances. Unfortunately, most financial plans are static documents that, more often than not, end up in a file drawer or on a shelf making them relevant for only a brief period of time. One of the ways Integra Capital Group solves this is by unleashing the power of WealthVision – the single most important tool for managing your complicated financial life.
